September Report

The last Council meeting (Zoom) was on 13th August 2026. Nicky & I asked for the following items to be on the agenda:

Further discussion on the 'Help for Smaller u3as' project. This project is ongoing and a number of helpful ideas are being progressed.

The item on Safeguarding and Welfare matters for local u3as was not on agenda due to lack of time. It will hopefully be on the next meetings agenda.

Colin and three other CRs are looking at measuring the 'Effectiveness of the Council' This is an ongoing project and initial results / ideas will be on the next meetings agenda.

We have started regular Zoom meetings with a) Network Officers & b) Chairs / Secretaries of local u3as.

All Wales u3a meetings - the next one is on 2nd November at Newtown, Powys. one is also planned for May 2027.

Quarterly Zoom meeting for all Wales u3as have been arranged along with Network Chairs / Secretaries meetings.

Workshops - A practical AI workshop is planned for the 14th December. Also on 21st September there is a Zoom workshop on the Climate Crisis - some solutions.

OTHER MATTERS

AGE CYMRU REPORT – We have received the results of the Age Cymru survey on people over age 50. It cover about 1500 respondents and 22 local authorities. The link to the results is:
